The spring tour consisted of 21
theatre concert dates, returning
to a few regular venues such as
the Worcester Swan and the
Llangollen Royal International
Pavilion, and going to a few new
ones, such as the Stoke-on-Trent
Victoria Hall and the Reading
Hexagon.

We toured with our brand new
van – the silver mean machine –
a large Mercedes Vario van
converted to hold 9 people, with
plenty more space in the back for
more drums.

Our old blue van, “the Tardis”,
has now been retired to schools
visits and one-off performances.

With the addition of Katy McAulay
on this tour, a member of Taiko
Academy, we toured with a line-up
of six players for the very first
time, which expanded our scope
both onstage and behind the
scenes.

Katy could be seen performing
energetically onstage in the
second half of the show.

In the first half she was cueing the
lights in the lighting box, making a
huge difference in the accuracy of
the lighting, which enhanced the
show greatly.
